Phoenix

We just got back from Phoenix and it was SO NICE! The weather was awesome and it is so nice there. The resort we stayed at had awesome pools and a lazy river. Very nice! I got a major sunburn on day 2 of the trip. I even used SPF 70! Aargh! We went to see the new Harold and Kumar movie. Very funny! Brian has a buddy name Rich from high school and college who lives in Arizona. We got to have dinner with him and Brian got to golf with Rich one day also. Rich, like Brian went to Ohio State and they were room-mates for a period of time. While at OSU Rich was in the marching band and was lucky enough to dot the "i" in Script Ohio! How cool is that? I also got to have In-N-Out Burger for lunch one day. Thank God we don't have those here in Ohio because I would eat one every day! Thank you Brian for an awesome trip. Phoenix is great!

New bathing suits

Brian and I are getting ready to go to Phoenix for a few days. Nice, huh? I'm pretty excited, having never been there. Our hotel has a lazy river and I am VERY excited to spend some time in it. Lots of time as long as I don't get a sunburn on day 1. Anyway, today I was lucky enough to find not one, but two bathing suits I like!

Today's book

If you've never seen Chelsea Handler, you should. I think she is so funny. Anyway, her second book was just published and I could not stop laughing out loud reading it. Her sense of humor is a competely ridiculous and maybe offensive but she makes me laugh!

Commit to be fit

Brian ran in the Commit to be Fit 5k this past weekend. He came in 14th in his age division. Not bad for a guy with a 20th class reunion coming up.
Check out the picture here:

My purse

It is a known fact that my purse is not good news. I carry around so much junk, and sometimes I stick the overflow in plastic bags from the grocery and carry those around. Or sometimes I just carry 2 purses. Last night my friend Sheri made a comment about having to organize her purse. I laughed because I won a prize at a party once for having so much stuff in my purse. And strange "why are you carrying this around with you" type stuff. So I decided to take a picture of my purse and it's contents for fun. (I've seen other people do this and for some reason I find it interesting. Some of the highlights of my purse are:

Category 1: Things that have no reason to be there. These items originated at my house and could easily be left there. How they got in my purse I have no idea!

1) Free shampoo sample- I don't know where I think I am going to wash my hair mid-day.
2) Recipe for Mexican Chicken Fettucini (Thank you Traci) Again- where do I think I am going to whip this recipe up mid-day?
3) Pumice Stone- Possibly a pedicure while driving my car? This started out in my shower. Why is it in my purse?
4) Caroline's toothpaste- Again, why?

Category 2: Things I need to get done. I have found that if I keep it in my purse sooner or later I actually get around to it.
1) Cologne to ship back. I bought two.
2) Paperwork for a belt to ship back. Might help if I actually brought the belt along too.
3) Baby shower invitation to RSVP for
4) College brochures for Tessa- These coincide with item #3 as we have college visits scheduled on the same day of the baby shower and I need to look into re-scheduling
5) A Thank You note I NEED to send. (Sorry Sophie and Stella)
6) A Thank You note I sent and forgot to put the street address on. The post office was kind enough to return it to me. (Sorry Gwynnie)
7) My new cell phone I need to activate

Catergory 3: Makes sense to me/Just for fun
1) Gym membership card for Caroline. I lost mine so I use hers.
2) Hairspray with receipt taped to it. I've had 2 cans go bad on me and they said I could return this one with my receipt if I had a problem with it. I had them tape the receipt to the can so I could not lose it
3) Target gift card for winning Bunco!
4) $10 I did not know I had!
5) Catalog with clothes I want to look at online while I am at work.
So there you have it.

More underwater adventures

In case you are so intrigued by our frog drama here is an update:
We can't find the frog anywhere! I don't know why, but I drove home half convinced the frog would realize we were the best thing it had going and be back in the bowl when I got here. No such luck. Brian and I have looked and looked. I even looked under the other frog, as they have had a thing for being on top of each other A LOT lately. I even checked the toilet and Brooks water bowl thinking maybe somehow the frog would be drawn to a water source. (Again, it made sense at the time...) Brian said he thinks the great frog escape is how Elliot Spitzer felt at the time he was making some not so great choices. I'm wondering if the frog misses the other frog and Brian is thinking of Elliot Spitzer?

Frog legs for dinner?

I'm sad to report that our frog eggs did not make it. We had to get rid of them as it appeared that they were not going to hatch. So yesterday I put the frogs back in their normal bowl and gave them a special treat (bloodworms) since I felt bad for them. They were hanging out at the top of the bowl and I was kind of nervous about that. Before bed last night I showed it to Brian and asked if he thought they were OK. Sure, no worries. This morning I woke up and sure enough, we are missing a frog. Brian asked me where it was. Unfortunately the frog did not leave me a note or change of address. I can not find that thing. Crap. I am worried it will wake us up tonight as it hops on one of our faces or something. The reality is that the frog is dead by now and we will find it somewhere eventually. Bummer.

Our house smells SO GOOD!

I absolutely love the smell of Aveda stores and salons. They always smell so great! Today I popped into Aveda for a minute and they are selling these candles for $10.00. I have been moving my candle from room to room all afternoon and my house smells AWESOME!

Ahhh, spring is here!

Tessa got out the hammock today. How nice is that? Hard to believe we just had 19 inches of snow just a month ago...

Wicked witch?

Today was one of those days where I realize I should have done laundry a few days ago. I had no clean tights except for these. It isn't quite warm enough not to wear tights with my skirt today, and I wasn't feeling ambitious enough to pick a new outfit this morning. Brian saw me in these and just kind of raised one eyebrow at me. I've worn them before, but only with pants and boots where you could not see them.

Happy Anniversary!

April 4th is our 5th wedding anniversary. Here are photos taken at our wedding as well as what we look after 5 years of marriage. (Just kidding Brian- Happy Anniversary!)

I heart Ellen

When I was on maternity leave with Caroline I got hooked on Ellen. Caroline had colic so maternity leave was not fun, but I would put her in her little seat each day to watch Ellen with me. Since I'm at work each day I don't get to see the show but today I had an appointment outside of the office and got home early enough to watch Ellen. I love her! I am going to go see her one day. I have a picture of Caroline watching Ellen. I'm going to find it and post it. (I took it because Ellen had a contest once where you sent in pictures of you watching her but Caroline did not qualify because she was under 18.) (OK, I entered another Ellen contest where you could invite her to do something with you and I invited her to an Ohio State football game and day of tailgating but I didn't win that contest either.)

Ribbit

Our frogs have been VERY affectionate with each other lately. It has been a pretty good source of amusement for us. Caroline wants to know why they keep hugging and won't let go of each other. Today I came home and I was going to clean their water bowl until I noticed... EGGS! Tons of them! I am so excited. From everything I have read it is pretty tricky and takes a lot of work on our part. Here is a picture of the proud parents:

Snoop Dogg

Is coming to town! I am SO excited! Just a little FYI- Brian will not be attending this one with me. Snoop + Brian = Not going to happen.

Deadliest Catch

One of my favorite shows is back on getting ready for the new season. If you haven't watched it before you should. This show is GREAT! It is on the Discovery Channel.
